| Tonight, someone wrote to a Painter
user group to say she was having some odd things happening with the Painter
6 Brush type and its Smeary Bristle Spray variant. The sample
she sent to the user group showed a left-angled elliptical brush stroke
with thin, straight lines jutting off toward the upper left and lower right
corners of the
Canvas. I wrote back saying I'd see if I could
duplicate her result and let her know later. (I couldn't but noticed some
strange brush beginnings in my sample shown on the next
page.)
In the meantime, her strange brush
behavior looked like something that could be fun to play with so I suggested
that she write down the circumstances.. so she could make it happen
later.
An example is something that happens
when I use the Pen brush type and its Pattern Pen variant.
Since I haven't figured out how to avoid this oddity, which looks like
the brush started spinning when I "put on the brakes", it's become something
to play and have fun with. In the image above I painted some "snakey" strokes,
two of which have odd endings (one is there just to show the Pattern
used for the green "hub caps"), then used the Pattern Pen and painted
in a tight circle with the brush Size slider set about 3/4 toward
the right end. The size of the brush varied with the pressure I applied
and the center swirls form smaller circles because I used less pressure.
