This image was also created in Fractal
Design's Painter 4.0. Like the one on the previous page, it was done
using the Pen tool, Quick Curve tool,
Fill, Brush
strokes, Apply Surface Texture, Invert Selection, and
Glass
Distortion Effects.
Again, I applied these tools and
effects many times before any kind of recognizable
image appeared and it surprised
me to find two figures, or two faces and a suggestion
of their bodies emerging from behind
and through some vague objects.
The dismal figure on the left evokes
in me thoughts of the infamous "klan", or the worst in us. The face on
the right makes me think of the wise, honorable, intelligent, and dear
old men of my childhood. He appears to me to be holding an upright cross,
moving forward, and leaving the dismal behind him.
Since I'd just finished reading C.S.
Lewis' "The Great Divorce" and was reminded of good and evil and our freedom
to choose between them, I named this image "The Choice".
Or.. you could say I just had to
make a story out of all this color and motion. ;o) |
