In these samples, Lighting was added to the Shape before applying Bevel World.
 

Plain blue Shape with Lighting applied:

Effects menu, Surface Control, Apply Lighting.

To get this effect, use the settings shown in: Sample 3, Apply Lighting.

Objects palette, Dynamic Layers section, Bevel World Plugin.

This Reflection was added using the Pattern named emap 08, found in the Painter 6 Content Sampler folder, Pattern Libraries sub folder, Emap1 pattern library. 

To get this effect, use the settings shown in Sample 4.

Experiment with all of the Apply Lighting and 
Bevel World settings and various Patterns to see 
how they look. Make your own Patterns from any image or texture to get a special effect like stone or rock, for instance.
