| This
tutorial teaches the simple steps to create your own e-maps, save
them as Patterns, and apply them to text and selections.
1. Open a new Canvas, 300 x 300 pixels, 300 ppi. NOTE: This size is good for a reasonably sized e-map Pattern, though you may want to create larger images to save as e-map Patterns later. Remember that this size and larger images take up space and memory when running Painter and you can save custom Patterns in your own Pattern Libraries to load only when you want to use them. Libraries and Movers section.)
4. Select, All (or Ctrl/Command+A) to select the entire Canvas. 5. In the Art Materials' Patterns section menu, choose Capture Pattern and give it a unique and descriptive name, one not already used by Painter. Use this new e-map Pattern to apply Reflection to any text or selection: With the normal Text tool, Apply Surface Texture; use Dynamic Text; or Apply Surface Texture to a selection, then apply Bevel World. Only the e-map shown in Step 3 was used to create the following examples:
. Happy e-mapping! :o) |
